Coding for Kids – Strabane Summer I.T camp
Join NWRC Coding For Kids I.T. Summer Camp at our Strabane campus this summer to learn exciting new technologies and develop coding skills.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Tinkercad: Tinkercad is a free, easy-to-use app for 3D design, electronics, and coding. It’s used by teachers, kids, hobbyists, and designers to imagine, design, and make anything! The students will learn how to create 3d shapes and will ultimately create a key ring that will be printed on a 3d printer and they will be able to take it home.
Kodu: Kodu lets kids create games on the PC and Xbox via a simple visual programming language. Kodu can be used to teach creativity, problem solving, storytelling, as well as programming. Anyone can use Kodu to make a game, young children as well as adults with no design or programming skills. The students will learn how to create a simple game by using Kodu’s built in objects and code blocks.
App Inventor: MIT App Inventor is an intuitive, visual programming environment that allows everyone – even children – to build fully functional apps for smartphones and tablets. Those new to MIT App Inventor can have a simple first app up and running in less than 30 minutes. The students will learn how to create a simple app that they can run on the built in simulator or on a phone or android tablet.
Join us on Wednesday 3rd, Thursday 4th and Friday 5th July 2019 from 1:30pm until 4:30pm to earn your coding status!
