December 13 @ 9:30 am - 2:30 pm
Hour of Code event
The Hour of CodeTM is a global movement to show that anyone can learn how to code. Taking part during Computer Science Education week, the NWRC is hosting Three hours of Code on Friday 13th December.
During this time 60 children (P6/P7) from 3 different schools will take part in activities to help build their understanding of logic and problem solving.
The children will take part in activities which involve programming Lego Ev3 robots and creating a mobile app using MIT app inventor. They will programme a racing game using Kodu Game Lab and do online coding using code blocks to save Christmas from the Grinch.
The computing team at the NWRC encourage everyone to have a go and try out some online activities for the Hour of CodeTM. There are loads of free online resources and tools which aid in developing logical problem solving skills and many have varying levels of tutorials to grow with your skill level.
