Accessibility at the NWRC website

The North West Regional College has tried to make this website open to everyone and the process of improving website accessibilty is ongoing. If you find you are having difficulties using this website, please let us know and we'll see what we can do to help resolve the problem. It must be noted that certain aspects of the website are graphic in nature which may reduce accessibility.

Standards compliance

We are aiming for all pages on this site to meet the highest accessibility standards complying, where possible, with all priority 1, 2 and 3 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. We are in the process of improving our Accessibilty rating, however, content is added on an on-going basis and errors may occur. Please feel free to contact us in this instance.

What you can do

Altering the size of the text
If you find that you'd prefer the font size to be larger or smaller, you can alter this using your browser settings. Please note that if you change the text size you view our site at, this will affect all other sites you see until you change your browser setting back again. To increase or decrease the text size, follow these basic instructions:

In Internet Explorer (5.0 and above):

  • Adjustments can be made to the text size by choosing View on the main toolbar, then Text Size. Choose a relative text size (smallest to largest).
    OR
  • From Tools on the main toolbar, choose Internet Options
  • Under the General tab, choose the Accessibility button
  • Check the box in front of "Ignore font sizes specified in web pages"
  • Choose OK

In Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox:

  • Further adjustments can be made to the text size by choosing View on the main toolbar, then selecting Increase Font or Decrease Font (Text Zoom in Mozilla).
    OR
  • From Edit on the main toolbar, choose Preferences
  • From the left tree menu, choose Appearance, then Fonts
  • Check the radio button in front of "Use my default fonts, overriding document-specified fonts"
  • Choose OK

Making Other Browser Adjustments
You can specify the text style and color as well as the background color you prefer when using Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator.
