Open Days at NWRC 2017

Open Days

Dates announced!

Strabane  – March 28 – From 5pm to 8pm

Strand Road (inc. Springtown) – March 29 – From noon to 8pm

Limavady (inc. Greystone) – March 30 – From 5pm to 8pm

We have lots of activities from different course areas over our three campus areas so you can get a feel for what college life on a particular course is like. Activities are taking place at dedicated slots during the day – if there is an activity you particularly wish to attend, contact us and we will confirm the time. Check out what is happening by clicking on your campus area.

28th: At Strabane between 5pm – 8pm, you’ll get the chance to

–          discover our popular Early Years  courses, and enjoy hands on creative activities including making story boxes and paint-less paintings!

–          If interested in Computing you’ll get an intro to animation and web

29th:  At our Strand Road Campus activities on the day will include:*

–          Science: From Volcanic Eruptions and Lava Lamps to Soil Sampling and Forensic Blood Analysis!

–          Media: Have a go at presenting on TV or Radio, and using a green screen; try our Virtual Reality Headset and enjoy our filmmaking or animation workshops

–          Engineering will be running demonstrations including CNC Materials and Metallurgy and Rapid Prototyping

–          If you are interested in Computing we’ll have Bot n Roll and Coder Dojo  workshops as well as programming and gaming, networking, animation and graphics

–          Our Art staff will be on hand to give you a go at working with ceramics

–          In Sports you’ll have a chance to try out some of our first class sports equipment

–          In Early Years enjoy hands on creative activities including making story boxes and paint-less paintings

–          For those interested in a career in Construction there will be practical demos of use of Surveying equipment & GPS and getting to grips with the construction of a Tower and CAD

– Interested in our Music or Performing Arts courses?  You’ll get the chance to visit our professional recording studios to see and experience live music and a play being recorded.

30th: In Limavady activities between 5pm – 8pm will include:

–          Sports and Fitness testing

–          Care and Health will be demonstrating practical first aid skills and health techniques

–          Our Part-time Access team will be on hand to answer questions

–          If you are interested in Computing we’ll have Bot n Roll and Coder Dojo  workshops
