About North West Regional College
North West Regional College is one of the leading Further and Higher Education Colleges in Northern Ireland, and aims to offer an exciting learning experience for those wishing to return to education, progress to higher education, or enhance their employment opportunities.

In June 2011, we officially opened a fabulous £18m new build development at our Strand Road Campus, and we invite local people and our colleagues and partners to contact us should they wish to tour or have a look around these magnificent facilities – email marketing@nwrc.ac.uk.  In addition to the full-time and part-time students at our three main campuses, Derry-Londonderry, Limavady & Strabane, the College’s vibrant learning community includes learners undertaking courses at local centres, co-ordinated by our Community Outreach Department.

Essential Skills…FREE Literacy and Numeracy courses
North West Regional College offers opportunities to those individuals who wish to improve their literacy and numeracy skills, including reading, writing and maths. These essential skills are very important for self-confidence, day to day living situations and employment.
Our courses enable learners to start at an appropriate level and pace, build skills and progress towards their full potential. Students undertake a range of interesting practical activities on every day topics, for example health, customer care, shopping or buying a car.  Courses lead to nationally recognised qualifications.

At present, these courses are FREE and offered at a number of locations throughout the North West. Improve your Maths/English (Essential Skills Numeracy/Literacy) are courses designed to help with basic reading, writing and maths.
