We have a proud and established tradition for providing quality courses in this area, enabling hundreds of learners to progress from our College directly into employment or onto higher study at university. The courses we offer are delivered following discussion with our industry partners who identify the skill and competence areas they require our learners to develop prior to progressing to employment.

My course is excellent, involving both assignment work and exams. I would recommend this college 100%. The staff are brilliant and it is a great place for young adults and mature learners. I knew the College would help me find the right career for me.

My time at NWRC was such an amazing experience! This course opened so many doors and gave me the chance to apply for lots of degree courses. We were supported so well by the lecturers and we learned so much about research and referencing, and this stood us in good stead for life at university. The College gave me such a huge confidence boost as it got me out of my comfort zone. The wonderful friendships I made will stay with me forever.

We offer training programmes in a wide range of professional and technical areas, designed to give you the skills and confidence you need to find a job.
Our training programmes include Training for Success, new Traineeships at Level 2, ApprenticeshipNI at Level 2 and Level 3 and new Apprenticeships at Level 3.

There is such a great atmosphere at this College, and it is a great place to develop your career in the trades area. My course is very practical which I really enjoy, and it has helped me gain the skills that I will need to succeed in my chosen field.

Calling all aspiring Accountants, Sales and Marketing Managers, and Personnel O cers… we have the business and management career opportunities you have been looking for.

I love the fact we can call our lecturers by their first name, it makes studying so much more personal. The staff here are very approachable and supportive. I have been involved in the Young Enterprise projects which has helped develop my employability skills, and I recently completed a work placement in the Collegse’s HR department which was very enjoyable. NWRC is a great place to learn!

Jude McLaughlin

Jude has secured a 2 year contract as a trainee Accounting Technician with McDaid McCullough Moore Accountants as part of his Higher Level Apprenticeship.

Practical work-based learning de nes our courses in this area. We build links and relationships with the local community to enable our students to develop real life experiences with people of varying needs and requirements

My time at this College has been so positive – it has expanded my knowledge of the health care industry, and has also enabled me to mature as a person. The lecturers here are very compassionate and enthusiastic, and they have given me the drive and motivation to succeed in my career. This course has opened doors for me that I didn’t know were there, and has been a pathway into radiography at the University of the West of England.

So when I found out that this course at NWRC offered a pathway into a Degree in Computer Science I just jumped at the chance!”

There’s no doubt that Construction is one of the most important facets of everyday life – roads, buildings, bridges… where would be without the architects, engineers and surveyors who build and design these projects

My time at NWRC was extremely important. I would not be in the role I am today if I had not attended the College

Aidan O’Donnell

Early Years courses at our College mean two things – popularity and success! We have a successful reputation for progressing our award-winning students into employment or onto higher education study in this area.

Aidan O’Donnell, a Support Worker who studied here at NWRC and is now employed at the college recently graduated and explains why Early Years was the right course for him.

Our Engineering options are delivered in industry standard, state-of-the-art workshops, featuring the latest CAD / CAMequipment, electronics, engineering technology and pneumatic/hydraulics facilities

I would really recommend NWRC. You’ll get the best education possible from helpful and friendly staff. Our facilities and equipment here are top class. With my course, I’m able to enter the second year of degree study at university, and I’m aiming for Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering at Cardiff University or Queen’s in Belfast.

NWRC has such amazing, state-of-the-art facilities and all the staff are experienced and friendly. I had heard about it’s outstanding reputation in Hairdressing & Beauty and I have been proved right! I began at Level 2 Hairdressing and Level 2 Barbering, and then progressed to Level 3 Fashion & Photographic Make-up. I am now preparing to compete in the 2016 World Hairdressing Championships in South Korea.

I chose this College because of its strong academic reputation, and because I knew that I wouldn’t just learn, but would also have fun! This course has given me the knowledge and skills to help accomplish my dream of becoming a chef. The media studios and facilities at NWRC are just fantastic! My course has given me the practical skills I need for a career in radio and TV. It has also helped develop my creative writing skills. At this college, all students are provided with the opportunities to achieve their career ambitions, be that into employment or onto higher education.

Roisin (who performs under the name ROE) is fast becoming a rising star in the music industry. Her music was selected as the soundtrack to VisitDerry’s new advertising campaign, she has collaborated with MOBO award nominated David Lyttle and even performed live at Glastonbury 2017 alongside some of the industry’s biggest and most influential musicians.

Dance, song, theatre, stage management, technical management, lighting, sound, script-writing, acting, performance – our Performing Arts experience is unrivalled

I had heard so much about NWRC, I knew it would be the right move for me and I was proved correct! The College resources and services are first-rate, but what is most impressive are the people – the staff and students. I can’t sing the praise of the College loud enough! It is such a satisfying and fun experience. I feel astronomically more prepared for work in the performing arts industry.
