NWRC are now recruiting applicants for 2 FREE Skills Academies that can lead you into employment.
These short programmes are fully funded through the Derry City and Strabane Labour Market Partnership and will give individuals the skills that employers are looking for in the areas of: Leadership & Management and Advanced Manufacturing Operations.
If you are over 16, unemployed and a resident of Derry City and Strabane District Council, you can complete our simple online form and a member of staff will contact you.

Leadership & Management Programme
This is an innovative academy for people across the Derry City and Strabane District Council area who would like to develop their skills and confidence before entering the workplace.
North West Regional College along with Derry City and Strabane’s Labour Market Partnership have designed this programme in line with employers to provide you with the skills that will leave you “job-ready.”
Course content will include core management skills, communication, and leadership skills.
What you need to know
Dates: Starts on Monday 22nd May
Times: 6-week upskilling programme (with three half days per week)
Delivered: Face to face at NWRC’s Strand Road Campus

Advanced Manufacturing Skills Academy
This exciting and newly developed 5-week Advanced Manufacturing Skills Academy is ideal to help learners develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to secure employment in the advanced manufacturing sector. The programme will include 3 weeks of training in our Springtown Campus, masterclasses and a 2-week placement.
Course content will include soft skills such as communication, health & safety, production manufacturing skills and digital fabrication.

Dates: Starts on Monday 12th June
Times: 5-week upskilling programme. Monday to Friday
- Level 2 CSR Card
- Level 1 Digital Fabrication Qualification
- Masterclasses with industry experts
- 2 weeks placement with an Advanced Manufacturing company
