Why we are the college for your son or daughter?

  • NWRC Grad201823 edit

We are delighted that your son or daughter is considering North West Regional College.

Rest assured that they are in good hands as our team of experts are here to ensure that he/she will receive a top-quality learning experience which is aimed at discovering their real potential.

Top Students

We attract students with top GCSE, ‘A’ Level and Honours Leaving Certificate grades and more than 600 NWRC students graduate to higher study every year.

Did you Know

Our Level 2 & Level 3 courses include practical work experience and are recognised by employers and universities – infact our Level 3 Extended Diplomas are the equivalent to 3 ‘A’ Levels.

Support

While we encourage independence, we have strict conduct and behaviour policies. So if anyone steps out of line we won’t be shy about letting them know. Our students often comment on the high level of support we provide.

Teaching Style

Students are taught longer in NWRC than on most degree classes! Our staff regularly collect top honours and prizes reflecting their high calibre of teaching and student support.

What we provide

While our primary objective is to make your son/daughter ready for employment, we also aim to develop them as individuals by involving them in various aspects of College life – sports, clubs & societies, events, gigs and shows.

The support we provide is critical – Finance (Grants, Loans, etc); Learning (Assignment writing, time management); Careers (Prepare a CV, Complete job applications, Prepare for interviews); Pastoral Care and Health & Welfare.

Travel Pass

If your son/daughter is under age 19 on 1 July 2021 and lives more than 3 miles from the College they can apply for a travel pass. This is not means tested. This pass will enable your son/daughter to travel to and from the College without charge.

Free Meals

If your son/daughter is aged 18 or under on 31 July 2021 and have a parent in receipt of certain benefits they may be eligible for Free Meals. Students will receive Meal tickets at the start of each week that can be exchanged for food and drink in the College canteen.

Education Maintenance Allowance

Students will receive up to £30 per week.

If your son/daughter is aged 16 -19 on or between 2 July 2020 and 1 July 2021 they can apply for EMA. This is a means tested, fortnightly payment to help with the costs of continuing in Education.
