Course Overview

The purpose of this course is to develop students as professional, self- reflecting individuals who meet the needs of employers within the Graphic design industries.The course is designed to equip students with art and design skills, knowledge and understanding, providing students with the skills to communicate their ideas and creative output through visual, written and oral presentations with a focus on graphic Design Practices. Mentored by experienced, practicing tutors you will develop a portfolio covering traditional print, digital print, advertising, illustration and typography.This course will encourage learning in a stimulating and supportive environment and you will have the opportunity to work on live briefs.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

32 UCAS points at A level (must include Art or Art related subject) together with 4 GCSEs (Grade C or above) to include Art, Maths and English (Level 2 Essential Skills in Numeracy and Literacy will also be accepted); OR Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design, Level 3 Art and Design Foundation Diploma or equivalent Level 3 qualification.Entry is subject to a successful interview, where you will be asked to bring along a portfolio of your existing work. We also welcome applications from mature students who will be considered individually based on experience rather than qualifications.

ROI Requirements

32 UCAS points and 4 OLCs subjects at Leaving Cert (Grade 04 or above) which must include Art, English and Maths. Entry is subject to a successful interview, where you will be asked to bring along a portfolio of your existing work. We also welcome applications from mature students who will be considered individually based on experience rather than qualifications.

Further Study

Students completing their BTEC Higher Nationals will be aiming to progress to a HND L5 in Graphic Design or into year 2 at University level (This will depend on performance at interview stage) or into employment within the Graphic Design Industries
