With the Diploma in Medical Administration you can start your career as a medical administrator or secretary, helping patients and providing vital support for doctors and other healthcare professionals. This course is designed for those wishing to work as receptionists in any section of the health services, including general medicine and dental practices, hospitals (including wards and medical records clerks) and opticians. This qualification was developed in partnership with AMSPAR (The Association of Medical Secretaries, Practice Managers, Administrators and Receptionists).If you do not hold a level 2 qualification in Numeracy, you will be expected to complete our Essential Skills Numeracy during this course to enhance your employability skills and progression prospects.A number of mandatory units are required to be successfully completed along with a number of optional units which have been selected to enhance skills, knowledge and employability opportunities.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

4 GCSEs - achieved a Grade C in English and Grade D-G in 3 other subjects.

ROI Requirements

4 OLCs - achieved a Grade 05 in English and Grade 06 in 3 other subjects.

Work Placement

You will also participate in a period of work experience in a healthcare environment as part of this course and this will provide valuable insights into the world of work. This would be additional and outside your timetabled course hours, evidence from this work placement will be required to be put towards a number of the units for this qualification.
