Course Overview

BTEC National qualifications are widely recognised by industry and higher education as the principal vocational qualifications at level 3. Equivalent to 3 A Levels, this course combines both Business & IT allowing you to progress to further study in both subject areas. The course will provide the knowledge, understanding & skills necessary if you wish to pursue a career in either IT or Business. It is designed to meet the needs of employers and allow progression to higher study e.g. Foundation Degree in Business and Enterprise (Validated by Ulster University) at NWRC or Foundation Degree in Information Technologies (Validated by Ulster University). .

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

4 GCSE’s (Grade C or above) to include English AND Mathematics or equivalent. Level 2 Diploma in IT or Business with English and Mathematics GCSE Grade C or equivalent.

ROI Requirements

4 OLC’s (Grade 05 or above) to include English AND Mathematics OR Leaving Cert Applied - Merit

Work Placement

The course includes a Work Placement Module in the second year.

Further Study

After completing the Level 3 qualification you may progress on to a number of higher level study options, including: Foundation Degree in Business and Enterprise (Validated by Ulster University); Foundation Degree in Information Technologies (Validated by Ulster University); BSc Hons Business with specialisms at Ulster University and Business related Degree programmes at other UK universities
