Course Overview

The course will develop the advanced technical knowledge required in the Carpentry sector. Whether the joiner is working alone or in a team the individual takes on a high level of personal responsibility and autonomy. From working safely through to exceptional planning and organising, accuracy, concentration and attention to detail to achieve an excellent finish, every step in the process matters.
The full qualification consists of the following units:
• Health, safety and welfare in construction
• Carry out first fix flooring and roofing:
• Carry out second fixing operations:
• Principles of organising, planning and pricing construction work:
• Carry out first fix roofing and stairs:
• Carry out second fixing double doors and mouldings:
• Set up and use fixed and transportable machinery:

The course is aimed at those who work in the construction industry or hold a Level 2 qualification in Carpentry and Joinery from a recognised body.

Additional Information

For the talented carpenter there are many commercial and international opportunities; students can also progress to HNC/HND in Construction.
