Course Overview

This qualification is designed to help learners build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years of age. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas working in children’s settings including early years. Learners will attend an Early Years placement two days per week and will be assessed working alongside children in the 0 - 6 years age range. A portfolio of evidence will be created over the duration of the course to meet the 65 credits required.

UK Requirements

GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths is Desirable but not Essential. Attendance at information session essential. An Access NI check must be completed before commencing placement.

Additional Information

In recent years a high percentage of learners have gained employment within the industry shortly after qualifying. Others have decided to continue their studies to Level 5 courses within the College and found that this course provided an excellent foundation to their learning.
