Course Overview

The aim of this course is to encourage creativity, experimentation and enquiry. You will be introduced to a range of techniques and processes and will be encouraged to explore areas in Graphic Design, Fashion and Textiles, 3D Design and Fine Art.
Entry is dependent on presentation of a quality portfolio showing examples of advanced drawing skills, research, idea development sheets and final pieces. The course builds upon prior knowledge and experience, linking skills already acquired with ideas and challenges, which will expand critical thinking and independence. This course is the only course in the whole of Ireland accredited by the University of the Arts London (UAL) Awarding Body.

UK Requirements

UK: 5 GCSEs (Grade C or above) to include Art; A Level Art or a Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Art and Design. This course also welcomes Mature applicants.

Additional Information

This exciting course is structured to encourage creative ability, enquiry and experimentation. You will experience a broad range of specialist disciplines, enabling the creation of a high quality portfolio and allowing progression to Yr2 of the part time Foundation programme. This course allows you to time to explore a number of art and design disciplines before progressing onto Higher Education courses within the college or to university level courses.
