Course Overview

This prerequisite course is designed to prepare you for the GCSE Biology course. As part of the course students mustundertake a class examination. A minimum of 80% attendance is expected. Successful candidates can progress to undertake the full GCSE course, where additional tuition and examination fees will apply.The GCSE Biology course is divided into 3 units. Units 1& 2 include the following topics: Cells, Living Processes, Biodiversity, Body Systems, Genetics, Microorganisms and Health. Both of these units are assessed by an externally written examination. Unit 3 is an externally assessed practical skills unit.

UK Requirements

No formal qualifications required however previous study of Science and Maths will be an advantage.

Additional Information

You can progress to further study at level 3 which in turn can lead you to a wide range of employment or higher education opportunities within Science and Health.
