Introduction to GCSE Mathematics

Course Overview

This prerequisite course is designed to prepare you for the GCSE Mathematics programme. As part of the course students must undertake a class examination. A minimum 80% attendance rate is also expected. Successful candidates can then progress to undertake the GCSE programme, in which additional tuition fees will apply. Others will be guided towards Essential Skills programmes which are free of charge and will develop the skills you need to support your success in a GCSE programme the following year.

Important Message

Fees must be paid at the time of enrolment, or arrangements should be put in place to pay by instalments. The full fee includes tuition, registration and examination fees (where relevant). Depending on your circumstances you may be entitled to a reduced (concessionary) fee. Reduced fees are applied to the cost of tuition only. Failure to enrol before the Awarding Body deadline may result in you incurring a late fee.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

Ideally, learners will have a GCSE Mathematics grade D or Essential Skills Numeracy Level 2. At the end of 8 weeks there will be an assessment and learners may progress to the follow on GCSE course.

Additional Information

Places are limited and learners should only enrol if they have the time and commitment to complete the programme. Independent learning is needed outside the timetabled hours to consolidate and improve your skills.
