Course Overview
Fulltime is 2 years of study ; Part-time is 3 years of study. This course is a combination of mechanical engineering principles and design, and manufacturing processes and systems. The course allows for a wide range of practical activities and opportunities for team working, data analysis and problem solving, incorporating various computer-based IT engineering applications. Students have access to industry standard design software packages including Solid Works, AutoCAD, Cosmos FEA, and are encouraged to develop their IT skills using software such as Microsoft Office. The course offers the opportunity to prepare for a range of technical and management careers in mechanical engineering and manufacture engineering.In addition, the course allows for progression onto the second year of an Honours Degree programme in a related discipline.Whether you want to specialise in mechanical, manufacturing, production, aeronautical, energy supply, renewables, communications or maintenance engineering, there is a wide range of engineering opportunities available in Ireland, the UK and abroad.
