With the Diploma in Medical Administration you can start your career as a medical administrator or secretary, helping patients and providing vital support for doctors and other healthcare professionals. This course is designed for those wishing to work as receptionists in any section of the health services, including general medicine and dental practices, hospitals (including wards and medical records clerks) and opticians. This qualification was developed in partnership with AMSPAR (The Association of Medical Secretaries, Practice Managers, Administrators and Receptionists).If you do not hold a level 2 qualification in Numeracy or Literacy you will be given the opportunity to complete these during the course to enhance your employability and progression prospects.A number of mandatory units are required to be successfully completed along with a number of optional units which have been selected to enhance skills, knowledge and employability opportunities.

UK Requirements

4 GCSE’s (Grade D-G or above). Suitable for mature students who may be accepted without the entry requirements following a successful Information Session

4 OLC’s (Grade O6 or above). Suitable for mature students who may be accepted without the entry requirements following a successful Information Session

Work Placement

You will be expected to complete a period of work placement in a GP surgery, hospital or other medical environment where you will complete a number of work-based units in order to achieve the full qualification.
