Course Overview

Modules of study will include:
Laboratory practice for Applied and Medical Sciences, Cell Biology, Biochemistry and Human Nutrition, Professional Practice in the Laboratory, Lab Skills and Safety, Evidence-Based Professional Practice and Work Based Learning. The course will be delivered over 4 semesters which is equivalent to 2 years of study. In the final year, you are expected to complete a work based learning module which will consist of 400 hours of total placement.

Upon completion of this course, you may progressinto the second year of existing Hons degreeprogrammes at Ulster University based on the 2+2model (2.5 years part-time, followed by 2 years at UU full-time).You can progress to similar degrees at otheruniversities, or begin to explore employmentopportunities in this field including: PharmacyTechnicians, Dietetic Assistant, CardiologyTechnician, Audiology Technician, Basic LevelPharmacology staff, School Technicians, andAssistant Grade Professionals.
