Music (general pathway)/ HND in Music (production pathway) (Level 4 Higher National Certificate) (Level 5 Diploma)

Pearson BTEC

Course Overview

This course could lead you into the music industry. Being able to play an instrument is not a requirement, however you will need to have an ear for music and an interest in a wide range of musical genres. You will acquire and develop the practical skills of music production, both recorded and live. You will collaborate with musicians to produce original material and work on live briefs. You will also learn about the business side of the music industry. By the end of the course you will have produced a portfolio of work and devised a career plan. The outstanding facilities include state-of-the-art recording studios, practice rooms, Apple Mac creative suites with the latest music software, and a custom-built 170 seat theatre. You will have the opportunity to learn and develop technical skills and benefit from the knowledge and experience of tutors and technicians who continue to work actively in the music industry. Success in this course can lead either to working in a music career straight away or to further study at university.
