Course Overview

This unit will enable learners to use and experiment with mixed media in painting and will teach learners how to use appropriate materials, techniques and methods safely. Learners will research and collect appropriate information to support the mixed media approach and produce work showing this understanding. The course will teach learners how to experiment with mixed media methods as a means of expression working towards a final painting or paintings.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

There are no formal requirements for this course but learners must be 16 years of age on or before 1st July on year of entry.

Additional Information

Learners will be taught how to work with acrylic, water colour and oil paints to created mixed media work. For assessment learners will be required to present A sketch book showing idea development, research and notations on mixed media processes and also a final painting or paintings reflecting the taught skills throughout the course.
