Course Overview

This unit is a practical unit that will enable learners to design and make pieces of jewellery from glass. Learners will learn how to design through sketchbook work, consider colour patterns and surface decoration and will make their chosen design /designs into pieces of jewellery.The course requires learners to produce a portfolio of work showing design development, the making of the jewellery at different stages and the final product. Consideration to health and safety will also be noted for assessment of the unit.

There are no formal requirements for this course but learners must be 16 years of age on or before 1st July on year of entry

Additional Information

The course will teach learners how to plan and prepare for Jewellery production using a selection of glass. Learners will explore ideas and experiences to inform the production of their jewellery and will learn how to work safely in a studio environment.
