Course Overview
This dynamic, multi-faceted course will provide you with a path to employment in a variety of on stage and off stage careers such as community performing arts, broadcasting, drama therapy and professional theatre. Building on your previous qualifications and experience, the course will allow you to enhance your skills in preparation for further studies at university level. Students of the course have been prize winners each year in the Northern Ireland Inter College Performing Arts Competitions. The course is delivered in our exceptionally well resourced Foyle Building, complete with a 170-seat theatre, dressing rooms, stage craft and property workshops and costume store. Lighting and sound equipment are of the highest professional standard. Numerous public performances take place here, and all students get many opportunities to be on stage or in offstage support roles. In the last few years our programme has included ambitious live theatre versions of films such as Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Shaun of the Dead and The Big Lebowski. Students with acting, dance or technical theatre experience are encouraged to apply.
