Accounting Technicians (Level 5 Diploma)

UK Requirements

Applicants should be aged 18 or over by 1 July 2024. UK applicants should have achieved - one A-Level or two AS-Levels with English and at least one subject from Maths or Accountancy not lower than grade C at GCSE level. Prior Learning may provide an entry route for applicants who do not meet any of the above criteria and who are aged over 21. Those who have successfully completed a nationally recognised qualification such as QQI award in the Republic of Ireland or QCA and National Diploma in Northern Ireland may be eligible to register.

ROI Requirements

Republic of Ireland applicants should possess one of the following - Five Ordinary Level Certificate grades (including an O5 in English and Maths/Accounting); OR Two Higher Level and Two Ordinary Level Leaving Certificate grades (including an O5 in English and Maths/ Accounting.) Applicants should be aged 18 or over by 1 July 2024. Prior Learning may provide an entry route for applicants who do not meet any of the above criteria and who are aged over 21. Those who have successfully completed a nationally recognised qualification such as QQI award in the Republic of Ireland or QCA and National Diploma in Northern Ireland may be eligible to register

Further Study

Students can progress to professional accountancy qualifications or university degrees.

Career Prospects

This course provides a pathway to a career in accountancy. Students who achieve the Level 5 Diploma can progress to study with a range of professional accounting bodies such as CAI (Chartered Accountants Ireland), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) etc.
