This innovative course, based on industry needs, will give you the opportunity to develop business enterprise knowledge & business skills and employment experience. A key feature of this course is the work based learning which provides the opportunity to work in a company on a ‘live’ project. Students find this aspect of the course particularly interesting and very useful. Knowledge and skills will be gained through activities and application to ‘real world’ business issues and opportunities. Practical aspects of people management, marketing, online business and finance will feature strongly in related modules. Modules of study are: Academic and Career Enhancement Skills, Principles of Marketing, Principles of Economics, Introduction to Financial Accounting, Principles of Management, Foundations of Entrepreneurship, Work Based Learning, Professional Skills, Marketing Management, High Performance Work Enterprises, Accounts for and ethics for Business Managers. Validated by the Ulster University, this course provides you with an opportunity to progress to the final year of the business degree at Ulster University, subject to UU entry criteria and the completion of summer bridging modules.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

UK - 64 UCAS Tariff points + GCSE Maths Grade C or equivalent (eg Essential Skills Level 2 Numeracy) AND GCSE English Grade C Or equivalent (eg Essential Skills Level 2 Communication) ILC - 64 UCAS Tariff points OLC (Grade 04 or above) in English and Maths; Access - 50% (which includes Level 2 in Communications & Mathematics) Interview is required.Alternatively entry to the programme may be gained through the process of formal accreditation of learning you have gained through work or other experience (APEL) provided you hold the required English and Maths qualifications. Validated by the Ulster University this course provides you with an opportunity to progress to the business degree at Ulster University, Magee Campus, subject to UU entry criteria. The part-time students infill into the full-time Foundation Degree. They usually attend one day a week whereas the full-time students attend three days. These days may change from Semester to Semester.
