Course Overview

The course aims to develop a student with the required attributes, skills and competencies to work effectively and ethically with adults who wish to avail of professional counselling. .The course is structured around 11 Taught modules. These are delivered via a blended approach to teaching and learning which involves opportunities for face to face lectures, student led seminars, group work, counselling practice with peers and online teaching.It is the students responsibility to source and secure a counselling placement. Failure to secure a placement will result in students having to take a leave of absence in semester 2. Some students may exit at this stage with a Certificate in HE in Counselling Studies.

Fees must be paid at the time of enrolment, or arrangements should be put in place to pay by instalments. The full fee includes tuition, registration and examination fees (where relevant). Depending on your circumstances you may be entitled to a reduced (concessionary) fee. Reduced fees are applied to the cost of tuition only. Failure to enrol before the Awarding Body deadline may result in you incurring a late fee.

UK Requirements

No interview Required. Normal progression to Year 2 of the Foundation Degree requires successful completion of all Year 1 assessments.
