This course will aid students to understand the importance and role of infant mental health on childrens development. The course will cover the following learning outcomes;Understand the expected pattern of social and emotional development in in children 0-3 years (LO1)Understand factors that may affect children’s social and emotional development including trauma (LO2)Understand how to support children’s social and emotional development and meet their individual needs.(LO3)Understand how to use everyday care routines andactivities to support independence, health, safety and well-being. Whilst there are no formal entry requirements, this qualification will build on the knowledge attained through OCN Level 1 Award in Infant Mental Health

Additional Information

This course is targeted at parents and professionals working with children and young people. Students will explore brain development, key physical care needs and support infants social and emotional development with particular reference to the impact on development in children.
