Improve your English, Maths and ICT

Gaining the essential skills and knowledge you need to operate effectively in everyday life and at work will help you progress to achieve your career goals. At NWRC you will have the opportunity to continually improve your English, Maths and ICT skills as this learning is embedded throughout our study programmes.

  • English, Maths and ICT qualifications are highly valued by employers and universities. They are the most important and useful skills we all need to succeed in education, work and everyday life.

  • If you have not achieved a Grade C at GCSE in either English and/or Maths and are concerned about barriers to your progression, don’t worry we are here to help. You can gain qualifications in English and Maths while completing your full-time course at the College, or by additional part-time study.

    • Our Essential Skills courses are 100% FREE
    • Enhance your job prospects with nationally recognised qualifications that employers will recognise
    • Higher earning and learning potential
    • Improve your communication skills, including reading, writing, speaking and listening
    • Develop technical and numerical skills which are transferable to higher education and your career
    • Boost your self-confidence and gain greater independence
    • Classes take place in a relaxed atmosphere
    • Experienced and friendly tutors will help you improve your reading, writing and maths quickly and easily
    • Class numbers are relatively small to give you the individual attention you require
  • We offer Essential Skills in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT from Entry Level 1 through to Level 2. All courses are 100% free, so it will cost you nothing to gain your Maths, English and ICT qualifications.

  • We also offer GCSE English and Maths programmes for those who want to develop their Literacy and Numeracy skills further. So take the first step to improving your life and contact the College today. We look forward to meeting you.
