Early Years students complete Story Sacks project for use at local library

18 April 2023
Group of nine people in a classroom setting with children's books and the story sacks

Fantastic work by our Level 2 Early Years students who were tasked with designing and creating Story Sacks to be used in a local library in order to promote the talking and listening skills of young children.

Students had to meet a brief that was given to them by Melanie Doherty, local Talking to Our Babies Coordinator.

The students then researched and selected suitable resources that could support their chosen story and extend the learning for children. Thank you to Deirdre McLaughlin from Libraries NI for visiting the college to see the finished work.

Well done to Sophie Hicks, Derry McLaughlin, Simone Thompson, and Sophie McLucas. Thanks also to Lecturers Mary Adeyinka and Sharon McLaughlin and Curriculum Manager Carol Thompson.
