Talented Art & Design students from North West Regional College will showcase a selection of their work from the past 12 months in an online exhibition which is available to view at www.nwrc.ac.uk/ArtAndDesign
The end of year show, which has been running for many years, gives students to the opportunity to showcase their work to a wider audience, however this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, the exhibition has been moved to an online platform.
The exhibition features work from students on the college’s Level 3 Diploma/Extended diploma in Art and Design and the L3 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design course, which have accreditation from the University of the Arts, London, and the BTEC Higher National L4 and L5 courses in Art and Design – Textiles and Art Practice/Fine Art courses. It also features work from students on the NCFE Level 1, 2 and 3 in Photography.
Gaenor Speer, Curriculum Manager for Art & Design at NWRC said: “Normally at this time of the year we would have transformed our studio spaces into white walled galleries to allow our students to exhibit their work to a wider audience. This year however is slightly different due to the circumstances we all find ourselves in.
“The end of year show is a very important part of our academic calendar. It is at this show that we can celebrate the successes of our students and display the multiple disciplines within Art and Design that we offer at NWRC.
“This online exhibition is certainly another celebration. In the Art department we have a dedicated team of specialist staff who teach over a variety of disciplines and to this group of staff and with particular reference to the support staff, I would like to Thank you all for your determination to put this online show together. To our students I want to say a huge thank you. This has certainly been a different year for us all and you have been fantastic throughout.”
The online end of year show includes a number of unique pieces, as well as a variety of drawings, illustrations, paintings, photography, sculpture, prints, textiles, fashion design and multimedia artwork.
