Entry Requirements
UK Requirements
Traineeship - 4 GCSEs Grades A-G to include Maths and English Grade D as a minimum. Apprenticeship - GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above/equivalent. You must also have employment with a N.Ireland registered company confirmed by 31/07/2026. Applicants without ICT @ Level 2 must commit to a additional class for this to be achieved in first year of programme. PT evening ICT classes @nwrc available prior to September 2026.ROI Requirements

Traineeship
Students will be required to attend work placement which will be organised on a weekly basis or in blocks throughout the calendar year.
Apprenticeship
Employment is an integral part of your qualification. You will attend NWRC 1 day per week or as agreed with NWRC and employer (block)

Further Study
On successful completion of the Level 2 programme it is possible to progress onto full time employment on the Apprenticeship NI programme.Career Prospects
Welders can work in shipyards, power stations and off-shore structures and in a diverse range of industries. Salary estimates Starter: £16,000 to £19,000 Experienced: £20,000 to £30,000 Highly Experienced: £35,000. All of our lecturers in Welding and Fabrication completed their L3 apprenticeship and joined the teaching team after experience in industry.Enquiry
