Course Overview

The theoretical learning covers the biological background to orthodontics and encompasses the various appliances used today and how to maintain them. This qualification also emphasises the medico-legal aspects of treatment and the importance of good communication between patient and the dental team.In order to be awarded this qualification, you must:You will be required to complete a work-based Record of Competence (RoC).There are four sections to the RoC:Practical Competence Assessment Sheets (PCAS)Case StudiesDirectly Observed Clinical Skills (DOCS) AssessmentsSupplementary outcomesYou must pass the examination.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

You must be a qualified dental nurse with a Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing and you must be registered with the GDC.GCSE English and Math or equivalent are required.

Additional Information

This blended learning course will be delivered using a combination of online and face to face classes. Students will be expected to attend in person every 4th week. The remaining sessions will delivered online.
