North West Regional College’s (NWRC) Business Support Centre (BSC) has announced details of a new Environmental Sustainability course kicking off in September at the college’s Strand Road Campus.

This free one-year, part-time course will provide individuals with a basic understanding and knowledge of the environmental sustainability sector as well as an accredited Level 3 qualification.

NWRC Lecturer in Renewables and Built Environment Emer Smith explained: ‘’This course is particularly suited to those already working in the construction sector or those with industry experience who would like to upskill. It particularly focuses on energy management, sustainable construction and the principles of sustainable development, allowing participants to become an agent of change whilst making positive contributions to the environment.’’

NWRC Business Development Executive Clare McLaughlin added: ‘’This is a great opportunity for individuals and Northern Ireland businesses with less than 250 employees to upskill their employees and avail of 100% funding as part of the Department for the Economy Skills Focus & Skill Up programmes.’’

The course will begin on Wednesday 6th September from 9am – 4pm.

Limited spaces available. Applications will close on Friday 1st September.
