NWRC MUSIC STUDENTS ONSTAGE AT BUNDORAN MUSIC FESTIVAL

01 February 2023
Zodiac 2

We are excited to announce that a showcase of female artists and female-led bands from North West Regional College will be onstage at Feile Na mBán in Bundoran this weekend.

Aimee Tourish, Zodiac, Aimee Gallagher, Blathnaid O’Doherty, Ultra Violet, and Courtney Kennedy will take part in the MAPA at NWRC Music Showcase on Friday night, showcasing some of the Northwest's talented young up-and-coming female artists and bands.

Zodiac is a 6-piece Indie pop band based in Derry~Londonderry. The band formed in 2022 with its members hailing from all over the world, from South Africa to America. Some of their other material has consisted of rock, alternative, and alt-pop music. Some of the artists who have had an influence on the band and have aided them to cultivate their unique sound are Lana Del Ray, Dodie, Fleetwood Mac, Billie Eilish, FINNEAS, and Mitski. They have played in multiple venues across the North West and their goals for the future are to continue playing more gigs in various locations across Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland and to release an EP with some of the original music they’ve been working on.

Blathnaid O’ Doherty is a 20-year-old singer/producer from Strabane. She has been playing guitar for 3 years now and enjoys writing music on her guitar. She has recently been singing and playing live and has performed twice in Leos Tavern in Donegal. This has been a great opportunity for Blathnaid to develop as an artist and showcase herself. She has an interest in different genres of music like, rock, indie, pop, rap, and folk. Her influences would be Fleetwood Mac, Miley Cyrus and Billie Eilish. She is currently studying a music production course in Derry to develop her producing and engineering skills. Her goals are to release her own original music this year and do more live performances.
