Retail Recovery Programme
North West Regional College (NWRC) has joined forces with the five other Further Education Colleges in NI to support the recovery of the retail sector supported by the Department for the Economy’s ‘Retail Recovery’ programme.
The programme will allow retailers to avail of training and support in a number of areas leading to accredited qualifications.
Sinead Hawkins, Business Skills Manager, NWRC’s Business Services Team said “It has been such a challenging year for independent retailers. NWRC in partnership with the other five FE Colleges are delighted to be offering this Retail Recovery programme. It offers retailers support they need to move forward positively and begin the steps of recovery. Training will be offered in such as marketing, branding, digital and entrepreneurial skills whilst gaining sector desirable qualifications from Level 2 through to Level 5.”
Glyn Roberts, Chief Executive, Retail NI said: “The retail sector has been under huge strain since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020 and has only recently become fully operational again. Normal working practices have not been possible across the sector which is subject to continuous changes in restrictions.”
He added: “The face of retail has changed dramatically, and it is vitally important we support retail skills requirements with a co-ordinated approach from the FE colleges.”
The programmes commence with webinars in August and Masterclasses and courses from September 2021. For more information please contact Clare McLaughlin clare.mclaughlin@nwrc.ac.uk
