Course: HND in Construction and the Built Environment

Meet Eva, who recently graduated from our HND in Construction course. She is now studying towards a Degree in Architecture at Ulster University. Eva credits her time at NWRC as what helping her prepare for the transition.

I’ve always been interested in construction and architecture. My HND was the perfect stepping-stone to university. The knowledge I gained at NWRC helped me understand elements of my Degree course much more easily and I was able to complete my assignments to a higher standard.

Why did you decide to study Construction at NWRC?

I've always had an interest in Construction and Architecture and the course at NWRC sounded perfect. I am getting experience in all areas of the industry such as surveying, CAD, renewable energy and construction technology to make a few. The best thing about my NWRC experience was being able to learn from the experience and knowledge of my tutors and lectures who were so helpful and I also made great friends for life.

What are you doing now?

After finishing the course I went on to study Architecture at Ulster University. I’m glad I decided to study a HNC before going to university as it was the perfect stepping-stone and the knowledge I learned at the College has helped me understand elements of my degree course much more easily. I can also complete my assignments to a higher standard.

What are your future plans?

My goal for the future is to graduate with Architecture and to complete my education journey to Masters level to become an Architect.
