Further Study
Successful completion of this course will allow you to progress to the second year of the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma or, depending on the grades achieved, to a Higher National Certificate, Higher National Diploma or HLA programmes within NWRC. These pathways can then lead to university study in degree areas such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Electronics and Computing, and Agricultural Engineering.Career Prospects
This qualification has been designed as a one-year, full-time course for learners seeking to progress into employment within the engineering sector. Learners develop relevant skills and knowledge through a range of content focused on electrical/electronic and mechanical disciplines. Progression may be directly into Level 3 engineering roles or into apprenticeship programmes. The Foundation Diploma consists of seven units developed in collaboration with employers, higher education representatives and professional bodies. This ensures the content is current and includes the knowledge, understanding, skills and attributes required in the engineering industry. There are four mandatory units: two are externally assessed through examinations, and two are internally assessed coursework units. The remaining three optional units are also internally assessed and complete the course structure.Enquiry
