Health and Social Care plus City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Facial Skincare plus City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Facial Electrical Therapy (Level 3 National Extended Diploma)

Pearson BTEC
Care & Health

Course Overview

This two-year, full-time Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Health & Social Care is equivalent to three A-Levels and includes an exclusive enrichment programme for those interested in a career in Aesthetic Nursing. Alongside core health units (including Anatomy and Physiology), you will study beauty and skincare modules focused on non-invasive cosmetic procedures. The Level 2 Facial Skincare unit teaches industry techniques to offer facial skincare treatments and build advanced skills with the Level 3 Award in Facial Electrical Therapy. These qualifications create a pathway into aesthetics after university, where a nursing degree is now required by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) for treatments like Botox and fillers. The course is delivered by experienced healthcare professionals - registered nurses, social workers, and qualified beauty therapists. You will also complete 100 hours of placement in a Health & Social Care setting, developing practical skills, confidence, and personal growth for a successful career.

I studied the OCN Level 2 Award in Bakery & Patisserie. My course was delivered in the College's kitchens. There was a sense of community and a warm relaxing atmosphere throughout. If I was to describe my experience in 3 words it would be fun, exciting and therapeutic!

I was given so many opportunities, such as producing the college’s first ever official podcast, Talk NWRC. After graduation I got my first job as a Marketing Assistant with a local PR agency!
