Course Overview

This Diploma is for students who wish to pursue a career in the legal sector, and/or business administration. This program develops student skills to enhance their employability opportunities through practical work, coursework, assignments and work placement. Successful graduates can progress into a range of career opportunities within the area of Administration and Law or progress onto a Level 3 course to further their studies. A period of work placement will take place in the second semester to give you a practical introduction to the industry, learn new skills and let you "display" your knowledge. In addition, workshops will be offered by the College throughout the year to help you in your preparation for seeking employment.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

4 GCSEs Grade D-G or above to include Maths at Grade E and English Grade D or above.If you dont meet enhanced Maths and English grade you may be eligible for the introductory phase of Traineeship.

ROI Requirements

4 OLCs Grade O5 - O8 or above to include Maths at Grade O6 and English O5 or above. Applicants presenting with a Junior Cert or Junior Cycle qualification should have attained a majority of higher-level subjects including English and Maths. If you dont meet enhanced Maths and English grade you may be eligible for the introductory phase of Traineeship.

Students will complete a short period of work placement in the relevant industry.

Further Study

This course can progress you directly into employment or onto a Level 3 programme at our College.

Past pupils have gained employment as: Legal Personal Assistants; Legal Secretaries; General Administrators (eg secretary in a school, architect’s office); Clerical Officer in the Legal Department of a bank; Civil Service.
