Course Overview

This qualification has been designed to take account of the latest research findings on what makes counselling effective and is underpinned by the CPCAB model of practitioner development. This qualification is mapped to the Counselling and Mental Health National Occupational Standards, with a focus on practitioner skills and qualities as well as on written evidence.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

Interview required. You must have a GCSE English or Essential skills Literacy and be academically fit to study and write independently at Level 3. You must have undertaken and passed Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills . However, holding this qualification does not mean you will receive a place on the level 3 course. You must be in state of good mental wellbeing as the topics can trigger emotional disturbance. You must be over 19 years of age in order to apply. There is no requirement for personal counselling. However it is strongly suggested that you participate in some form of personal development outside of the course. Options for this might include workshops, life coaching or counselling/therapy.

For Further Information contact: Christina Bateson christina.bateson@nwrc.ac.uk The CST-L3 qualification is one step in a series of CPCAB qualifications. Once the candidate has successfully completed this qualification they may wish to progress to the Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (TC-L4). Please note that progression to L4 is dependent on passing an interview and suitable references. Places are limited at L4 and the course runs on alternate years only.
