Course Overview

This is a nationally recognised engineering qualification aimed at students who wish to follow a career in well-paid, prestigious employment, equipped with skills recognised around the world. The Diploma is a two-year, part-time course that is equivalent to 2 A-levels. The course will provide opportunities for students to progress within industry and to higher-level study. The course can support learners who want to progress directly to employment in job roles in the engineering industry and to Higher Level Apprenticeships (HLAs) in the engineering sector.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

UK Applicants must have achieved Level 2 Diploma in Engineering OR 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above and include Maths at Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification).ROI Applicants must have achieved Level 2 Diploma in Engineering OR 4 OLCs (Grade O5 or above) to include Maths at O4 OR Leaving Cert Applied – Merit.

Additional Information

Students find the units interesting, rewarding and enjoyable, especially units involving practical work to help them understand theoretical concepts. Throughout the course you will get the opportunity to gain excellent practical and academic skills, knowledge and experience. You will learn to use industry standard software and equipment to design, test and manufacture products and materials. Assessment projects are designed to be directly related to real life engineering scenarios.
