Entry Requirements
UK Requirements
GCSE Maths and English at Grade D or above (or equivalent). You must also have employment with a N.Ireland registered company confirmed by 31/07/2026. Applicants without ICT @ Level 2 must commit to an additional class for this to be achieved in first year of programme. Applicants that require to undertake additional qualifications (i.e. Maths/English/ICT) must have written consent from their employer that they will be released during the day from work to attend these classes as they may be run on a different day to normal vocational class. PT evening ICT classes @nwrc available prior to September 2026.ROI Requirements

You are employed so you attend NWRC 1 day per week to complete the Level 2 qualification and you will also be assessed on site by NWRC Assessor. You may also be required to attend college on days outside of the normal class day should Ess. skills be required.

Further Study
On successful completion of the Level 2 Apprenticeship it is possible to progress to undertake a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Painting & Decorating, through Apprenticeship NI. Options for further progression include a Higher National Certificate, Higher National Diploma, NEBOSH, or a degree.Career Prospects
Salary GuideStarter: £15,000 to £18,000Experienced: £21,000 to £25,000Highly Experienced: £25,000 to £30,000Self-employed painters and decorators set their own pay rates.With experience, you could become a team supervisor or move into related areas like estimating, contract management, interior or set design, or apprentice training.Enquiry
