This highly respected Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians is the nationally recognised qualification for learners who are employed within a pharmacy setting and want to develop their role working within the regulatory standards for pharmacy, as set by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Pharmacy Order 2010. Designed in close collaboration with employers, Skills for Health and the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), this course provides the knowledge, skills and professional behaviours required to succeed in a vital healthcare role.The course is competence-based, meaning you will develop real-world skills directly in the workplace. Learning is closely linked to your role as a trainee pharmacy technician, allowing you to apply theory to practice from day one.You will gain in-depth knowledge of: medicines supply and dispensing processes; pharmaceutical law, governance and professional standards; human biology, chemistry and pharmacology; patient-centred care, communication and safeguarding;accuracy checking, stock management and medicines reconciliation. Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

Applicants must currently be working in a pharmacy environment for at least 14 hours per week, having secured a placement as a pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician. They must have 4 GCSEs at Grades A*-C (or 9-4), including English Language, Mathematics and a Science, an acceptable reference for good character and an acceptable self-declaration for health.

Additional Information

The course is delivered by a team of highly skilled and experienced Pharmacists who have played a central role in the design and the delivery of the programme. You will learn on the job in the work environment, as well as in College. The knowledge and skills competencies required for a Trainee Pharmacy Technician are embedded into this qualification, which is recognised by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). On completion of the qualification, graduates may register with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician. This allows students to progress directly into employment within the Pharmacy Sector.
