Course Overview

This qualification is designed for learners with a strong interest in practical, hands-on learning. The course combines classroom-based teaching with extensive practical experience, offering numerous opportunities to gain industry-recognised qualifications such as First Aid, Safeguarding, and coaching or refereeing awards in sports like Gaelic games and Football. Learners will have access to industry-standard technologies, including STATS Sport, VEO, and performance analysis tools, to develop the skills required in today’s sports environment. Developed with input from employers and universities, the qualification is aligned with current industry standards. It provides learners with the practical knowledge and experience needed for coaching roles, supporting progression into employment or higher education. Learners should have a genuine interest in sport, with a proven record of participation, volunteering, and/or coaching.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

4 GCSE’s (Grade c or above) OR Level 2 Diploma.

ROI Requirements

4 OLCs ( grade 05 or above) OR Leaving Certificate applied Merit grade OR NI Level 2 Diploma.

Work Placement

No formal work placement however learners will have the unique opportunity to work closely with local sports teams, gaining invaluable experience supporting competitive athletes with training and performance testing.
