Health Sciences student Adam Meehan says that after attending North West Regional College’s (NWRC) Open Day in 2017, he decided studying for the Level 3 Extended Diploma was the best course to take to become a Paramedic.

Adam, 18, is now in the final year of his course, and has accepted a conditional offer at the University of Portsmouth to study Paramedic Science in September 2019.

He said: “At Open Day I developed a whole different positive opinion of NWRC from what I previously heard from peers and school teachers.

“This college has so much to offer, from hundreds of courses, the amazing Careers Academy, state of the art Learning Resource Centre (LRC)/Library and much more.

“I have loved every minute of this course, from going on hospital placements to doing interesting units.

“I would highly recommend attending a NWRC open day as this gives you a great insight of what this college has to offer.

“Studying at NWRC was a much better alternative than doing A-levels and this was backed up by universities I contacted.

“This is a highly desirable qualification, I received five university interviews this year and have accepted a conditional offer at University of Portsmouth to study Paramedic Science and I hope to move away and start in September 2019.
