Level 2 Panel Wiring
North West Regional College (NWRC) has launched a new Level 2 Engineering Apprenticeship in Panel Wiring in partnership with leading employers Vertiv and TES Power.
The programme—the first of its kind on the island of Ireland—has been developed to meet growing demand for specialist engineering skills in the North West.
Apprentices will train at NWRC’s Springtown Campus (Vertiv) and Limavady Campus (TES Power), combining practical college-based learning with industry experience.
Applications are now open for Vertiv, while TES Power has already completed recruitment for this year’s intake, demonstrating strong employer demand.
The apprenticeship offers clear progression to Level 3, Higher Level Apprenticeships, and degree-level engineering, supporting long-term career development within the sector.
John Cartin – NWRC’s Head of Faculty for Engineering, Construction & Sustainability said: “We are delighted to announce this new course at our Springtown and Greystone campuses which adds to the extensive range of traineeships and apprenticeships offered by the college.
“Working with TES Power and Vertiv – our students on this course will become skilled technicians capable of assembling, wiring, testing, and commissioning low voltage electrical switchgear and control panels to industry standards.
“The programme combines structured off the job technical training with on the job learning in the workplace, ensuring apprentices gain both theoretical knowledge and practical competence.
“This apprenticeship provides a strong foundation for sustained employment and progression within the electrical and manufacturing engineering sectors.”
Applications for all full and part time courses commencing in September 2026 are now open – for more information please visit www.nwrc.ac.uk/apply
