Creative Practice: Art, Design and Communication [Design Crafts] (Level 3 Diploma / Extended Diploma)

UAL
Art & Design

Course Overview

Ever thought how good it would be to spend all your time on the subject you love the most rather than dividing up your time with a range of different ones? If you are someone who would love a job in the creative industries and are passionate about art and design studies above all else, then this course could be just perfect for you! This course which runs over two years full-time, will develop your art and design practice more than a traditional ‘A’ Level, providing you with an exciting, challenging and diverse experience led by a team of specialist lecturers working in dedicated studios and workshops in the Limavady Main Street campus. It is an exciting alternative to ‘A’ level study that gives students a much broader art and design education due to the wide range of specialist areas and experiences on offer, some that students may never have tried before. Work is project-led and assessed through coursework which allows you to monitor your progress and the development of your skills throughout the course.

My course enabled me to explore so many different aspects of Art & Design that I would not have had the opportunity to do if I had followed the traditional A-Level route.

I’m the only female in the class but I didn’t let this stop me from pursuing something out of my comfort zone. Tiling is a very creative trade so I curbed my hesitations by leaning on my background in Fine Art. This has helped me see things in a way others may not.
