Course Overview
Studying Engineering will provide you with the opportunity to gain well-paid, prestigious employment, equipped with skills recognised around the world. Engineering is recognised as critical for the development of a knowledge economy.BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Engineering (601/7588/6)Equivalent in size to three A Levels. 15 modules including External assessment. This qualification has been designed as a two-year, full-time course that meets entry requirements in its own right for learners wanting to progress to employment in engineering. The qualification specialises in design and manufacturing engineering and learners will gain relevant skills and knowledge from studying a range of content focused on the design and manufacturing of electrical/electronic and mechanical systems. Learners will also benefit from close collaboration with the Product Design Centre in Greystones which is a state-of-the-art facility, equipped with the latest additive and subtractive technology, as well as an electronics laboratory. Progression could be either directly to employment in Level 3 job roles, higher apprenticeship programmes or other appropriate higher education courses in engineering.
