Course Overview

ApprenticeshipsNI Level 3 is open to employees aged 18+ or those about to take up permanent paid employment with a Northern Ireland-based company and be contracted to work a minimum of 21 hours per week (including 3 hours of class in College) with one employer. These work based qualifications allow students to work and study using their work role to support completion of the qualification. The course supports development of the knowledge and skills fundamental to the many diverse work roles within the Health and Social Care sector and is universally recognised by employers. Students will attend the College one day per week for a 3 hour class and will also receive the one to one support of an assessor to build their portfolio of evidence. Optional units are chosen from a wide range to support the student’s role within the work place.

I’m the only female in the class but I didn’t let this stop me from pursuing something out of my comfort zone. Tiling is a very creative trade so I curbed my hesitations by leaning on my background in Fine Art. This has helped me see things in a way others may not.

NWRC provides a great stepping-stone between school and University. My course has helped me decide which field of science I want to work in. I plan to study Psychology at University.
