Course Overview
Fast Facts: A precision engineer works to provide top quality assembled and/or machined parts to many facets of the manufacturing industry, and work in many different materials including stainless steel, aluminium, titanium, steel, lead and more. Our students work in local industries and are highly sought after. The Apprenticeship NI scheme offers the trainee an opportunity to train in their chosen trade and the employer the chance to develop a highly motivated and committed workforce. The Level 3 is a two year programme in mechanical engineering in which candidates will undergo broad based training in precision machining lathe turning, milling, detail fitting, welding and basic electrical wiring and testing. In addition candidates will be enrolled on a BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Engineering. On completion of the Level 3 framework the candidate can progress to Level a higher level of study, leading to higher level qualifications to meet each company/candidates requirements.
